April 25-26-27 – Northeast Equestrian Exposition at Treasure Equestrian Community Center, Manchester, ME. Training clinics, live demonstrations, lectures, and shopping! Contact Jacqui Byron 207/623-7847 or website www.treasureeques.com. MAINE DRIVING CLUB WILL HAVE A DEMO – one on Saturday at 11:30 and another on Sunday at 1:00. May 3, 2008 – MDC Terry McClare Clinic, Horsepower Farm, Turner, Maine. 9AM – 4PM. Cost is $115 per horse, $10 per auditor MDC members, $15 per auditor non-MDC members. Space will be limited for horses, but we welcome any and all auditors! Terry McClare clinics are geared towards riders of any level and discipline. Terry will help you work on individual issues that you and your horse may be having using many different methods such as, but not limited to: group exercises, individual attention and/or Terry may work with your horse. The morning session begins at 9 AM and covers groundwork. We will break for lunch around noon, and resume around 1 PM for more groundwork or optional under saddle riding. It is your choice. May 17, 2008 at Skyline Farm, 95 The Lane, North Yarmouth, ME. 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM. The Maine Driving Club and Skyline Farm invite you to join them to celebrate the First Annual National Carriage & Driving Month in May! Spend a spring afternoon at the beautiful and historic Skyline Farm to learn the basics of carriage driving. Enjoy a “hands-on” learning experience with both Maine Driving Club members and Skyline Farm volunteers. See a live driving demonstration in the ring, try your hand at “driving” a reinboard “horse”, explore the Skyline carriage museum, and learn how to harness a horse! This event is designed to be educational and informative for beginner drivers, equine enthusiasts, and anyone who loves horses! Admission is $3 per person or $5 per car (suggested donation). There will be many different routes available to drive, most on private dirt roads, but some on public paved roads. Must sign release form and bring proof of Coggin’s and vaccinations. February 23. FEBRUARY February 2 – TROT Sleigh Rally at Amy Beem’s Farm in Palmyra, Maine. Registration begins at 9AM and rally begins at 10AM. Rally includes a junior division and a mini marathon! North Yarmouth, Maine.
12-3PM. Sleighing
demonstrations and museum will feature a sleigh exhibit entitled “Good
Sledding.” The sleigh driving demonstration
is a virtual step back in time; a unique opportunity to get a first-hand
glimpse of the glorious days of the horse-drawn transportation era. It is
open to the public for $5 per person (free for Skyline Farm members and kids
under 6). If you'd like to truly feel what it was like to drive along the
quiet snow in an old-fashioned, horse-drawn sleigh, rides will be available
for $5 per person. It's the perfect opportunity to get out of the house and
celebrate winter. Lunch will be catered by Equuisine. In case of a storm, the
Sleigh Day will be held on Sunday, February 3rd. For current

Day of Sleighing & Mock Sleigh Rally at the Carriage
Barn. Join other sleighing enthusiasts for an afternoon of fun in the sun and
snow. We will have an introduction to Sleighing and mock
"sleighing" classes in our rolled outdoor arena (weather
permitting). If there is no snow, bring your carriage, dress in your best
sleigh costume and bring a picture of your sleigh and we will be
"sleighing" in our indoor arena. There will be discussions on
sleigh bells, costumes, etc, as well as a variety of sleighs on display. Please

Skyline Farm, North Yarmouth, ME. The day will start with a drive through the farm’s wooded carriage roads, fields, and gravel roads. Turnout will be based on your vehicle style. Next will be a picnic where categories include: Best Carriage Picnic, Best Spectator Picnic, Best Gourmet Picnic, Best Elegant Picnic, Best Casual Picnic, and Best Recyclable Picnic. Lastly, the afternoon competition will be cones and cross country obstacles. Ribbons will be awarded for turnout and manners on the picnic drive as well as for times on the cones and obstacles.
